Jennifer has always been a perfectionist when it comes to spelling, punctuation and grammar; she loves spotting grammatical errors and she is always on the lookout for typos. For this reason, and because the work can be carried out anywhere in the world, she decided to take her interest one step further and train as a proofreader. She graduated from the College of Media and Publishing with a level 4 diploma (distinction) in proofreading and copy editing and has now set up her own business–JG Proofreading.
Proofreading and copy editing are incredibly important final steps in the writing process. Even in 2021, these steps cannot be completed by technology alone, so that`s where Jennifer comes in. Her job involves reading text extremely thoroughly to remove any errors and enhance quality. Even the smallest of errors can affect the way the work is viewed, so it`s always worth having it checked. In her other life, Jennifer is a freelance events manager, mainly working in the mass-participation sports industry.
Away from the desk, she loves to get outside and explore; she is a keen runner with a few marathons under her belt and an aspiring bike packer. She also enjoys baking, reading, cryptic crosswords, learning new skills (she learnt how to juggle and complete a Rubik`s cube in lockdown!) and travelling.
