Ian Paterson is a Director of On Time On Budget Ltd and is an advocate of Agile working methods and a Certified Scrum Master. He has over 20 years of experience delivering business, process and technology change in high-pressure commercial environments.


Ian loves to help small and medium-sized businesses hit their deadlines when delivering new products and services by applying industry best practice to their team working and organisational problems.


Ian provides cost-effective expertise as and when clients need it, to enable them to steer their teams. Ian also helps clients to protect profitability by ensuring the scope of work packages is understood by all parties prior to starting work. This involves documenting requirements in an understandable and testable way, setting client expectations and agreeing on what success looks like - what is the `Definition of Done`? Ian’s expertise improves the visibility of the teams` work and regularly inspects what has been done. By adapting the direction of the product and also the way the work is done means driving continuous improvement for the business.


This is achievable through Ian using industry best-practice project delivery techniques developed throughout a twenty five year career in high-pressure commercial environments. Whilst happy to deliver your projects using a traditional `waterfall`/PRINCE2 methodology, Ian loves the engagement and results from using Agile project techniques, especially Scrum. These techniques provide a framework for the teams` work that focuses on adaptability and the early delivery of business value - agreeing which tools and processes work best for your particular situation.
