Full Biography
Having held various senior national and international engineering roles during a 30-year career in the Royal Air Force, Tony has dedicated the last 13 years to applying his skills and experience to specialise in Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Lean manufacturing in continuous process manufacturing.
His areas of expertise include Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing tools, Reliability Centered Management (RCM), engineering reliability growth, ERP business systems, Machine Shutdowns and planning, PM authorship and optimization and people focused ISO 9001 quality management systems. Tony works with a diverse range of clients in the manufacturing sector. With start-ups he builds and nurtures the culture and framework that underpin OpEx. With established businesses he applies his experience and doctoral academic training to help business maximize their potential through people, processes and products.
Using his expertise, Tony acts as an executive coach and trouble shooter enabling companies to reduce waste and improve efficiency while driving value to the bottom line. Research in the US, UK and Europe shows that over 90% of businesses that implement lean manufacturing don’t achieve the initiators intent. This is because they simply implement the tools of lean manufacturing with scant regard for the philosophy, organizational culture and leadership that sustain lean methodology within the business cultural paradigm.
