Swansea Learning Festival in Full Swing

Believers in the saying that “Knowledge is Power” will be happy to see Swansea Council’s Learning Festival has finally arrived.

Starting on April 1st and ending on April 6th, the Swansea learning Festival will be hosting workshops and lessons for people interested in learning a new craft, trade, or any type of activity being offered. According to the council’s website, the “areas of learning” will include:

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Health and Well-being
  • Technology and Media
  • Poetry
  • Entrepreneurial Opportunities
  • Business Support
  • Employability Skills

The festival is part of the Swansea Council’s recognition as one the UK’s 3 cities with UNESCO “Learning City” status. The events are being hosted in different venues all over the city, varying between venues like the National Waterfront Museum and Swansea’s Castle Square. The type of events varies between workshops aimed at helping SME owners market their business, to workshops on how to felt.

Swansea University will also take part by opening museums and exhibitions, providing tours of the campus, and more events/workshops in collaboration with the festival.

Because of the free price-point of the festival, attendees are encouraged to book a space in advance for the event they would like to attend as a spot cannot be guaranteed.
